Trunk or Treat: Alternative Trick-or-Treating
Oct 29th 2019
4:30 PM - 7:30 PM
What will volunteers do?
Trunk or Treat is our alternative twist on trick or treating. Our Center's partners and families (and volunteers like you!) will bring their cars and decorate their trunks to form a small village of vehicles where neighborhood children can go from car to car, collecting candy. We ask volunteers that are willing to bring extra candy (we always run out) or even volunteer to decorate their trunk and ... participate directly. Those without a trunk will float around the parking lot, cleaning candy wrappers, refill candy for folks at their cars, support the serving of a community meal, and help set up/tear down.
What should volunteers know about the location?
This event will take place in the South Side Early Learning parking lot (attached to the Reeb Center at the Northeast corner of the building. The lot will be CLOSED AT 5:00 pm! Please arrive before 5:00 if you plan to decorate your trunk. If you plan to volunteer but not include your car/decorated trunk, please park on the street around the Center.
What will volunteers need to bring or wear?
Please dress comfortably (lots of walking, standing and some lift lifting is possible). We will be outside the entire time! If you are willing, we can always use extra candy!
